Album photos vs QC photos
Album photos
Presentation evidence
Often selected to explain or present the item. They may provide useful angles, close-ups, measurements, codes, and captions, but the selection and lighting are controlled by the uploader.
QC photos
Inspection evidence
Images associated with a particular received item or inspection step on another service. Their value depends on the item match, date, source, angles, scale, and image quality.
How to check that photos belong to the same item
- Match identifiers
Compare the product code, source URL, order or record reference, variant, color, and size.
- Match construction
Look at panel lines, seams, collar, closures, sole pattern, pockets, labels, hardware, ports, or included parts.
- Match proportions
Compare shape and relative placement while allowing for lens, crop, perspective, and lighting differences.
- Record time and source
Write down where and when each image appeared. A reused community photo may not belong to the current listing or order.
Category-specific details to compare
| Category | Useful comparison points | Common limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Jerseys and clothing | Chest, length, shoulders, sleeves, collar, seams, fabric, print or panel placement, and measurement path. | Flat photos hide drape, stretch, fit, and fabric feel. |
| Shoes and sneakers | Toe, side profiles, heel, sole, panel alignment, interior or insole length. | One top-down view hides shape and heel construction. |
| Bags and handbags | Dimensions, silhouette, handles, closures, lining, hardware, and interior. | Stuffing and perspective change visible structure. |
| Watches and accessories | Scale, exact dimensions, dial or component detail, clasp, fastening, and included parts. | Small details may be unreadable or distorted by compression. |
| Electronics and earphones | Model, ports, connector, included parts, visible condition, labels, and compatibility. | Photos cannot establish battery health, performance, function, or safety. |
Sizing and measurement evidence
Confirm what the number measures: a body, garment, chest width, total length, shoe interior, insole, bag, case, or another object. Keep the stated unit and measurement path. A visible ruler or tape should show the zero point, path, and endpoint clearly enough to interpret.
A size label can vary between sellers, listings, and production runs. Measurements are often stronger fit evidence than the label alone, but they still need a visible method and reasonable tolerance. This guide cannot tell you what will fit a particular person.
Image quality and missing-angle limitations
Compression, glare, shadows, white balance, lens distortion, and perspective can change color and proportion. Mark a detail “not visible” when the image cannot support the conclusion. Requesting or finding another authorized angle is stronger than enlarging a blurred image and guessing.
Why QC photos do not authenticate a product or seller
A QC set may show a specific item at a particular inspection step. It does not establish who made it, who controls the seller account, whether a brand claim is lawful, whether the item functions safely, or whether a future shipment will contain the same thing. Product authentication and seller verification require separate evidence and relevant expertise.
Checklist before approving any next step
- The album and QC records share an exact item or source identifier.
- The variant, color, and size match.
- The essential category-specific angles are visible.
- Measurements are readable and taken along a clear path.
- Lighting and lens differences have not been treated as certain defects.
- Missing views and uncertain details remain written down.
- The QC images are not being used as authentication or seller verification.
Use photos for construction and measurements for fit
First connect the album and inspection record through the exact item, variant, color, and size. Use the photographs to compare construction, visible condition, and missing angles. Do not judge small differences until the records clearly belong to the same item.
For fit, rely on readable garment measurements with a stated unit and measurement path. A general size chart can provide context, but the measured chest, length, shoulders, and sleeves of the exact garment are more useful than assuming the same label fits consistently across listings.
