How to Handle Missing Prices and Seller-Specific Codes

There is no universal Yupoo price-code rule. A number becomes useful only when its currency, exact item, variant, quantity basis, source, and date are clear.

Why a price may be missing

An album may be used only to present photos while price, stock, variants, or order details sit on a marketplace, supplier page, private quote, or authorized contact route. The omission does not reveal the amount, currency, or seller.

Why a price-like code is not enough

A caption may include letters, digits, or an internal code. Unless the owner explains the convention and the result can be tied to a current responsible source, the code should remain a product or internal identifier—not a decoded price.

Where to check next

  1. Read the complete caption and album description

Look for an explicit amount, currency, quantity, variant, or authorized source link.

  2. Open the relevant source page

Confirm that it shows the same item and variant, not a category or similar listing.

  3. Use the established contact route

Ask one complete question that includes the exact URL, code, variant, quantity, and destination context.

  4. Leave the field missing if needed

“Price not listed” is a valid research result and prevents a guess from spreading through the spreadsheet.

Six fields that make a price usable

Amount
The exact visible or quoted number.
Currency
CNY, USD, EUR, or another clearly stated currency.
Exact variant
Size, color, model, material, grade, configuration, or other option.
Quantity basis
Per item, per pair, per set, sample, minimum order, or tier.
Responsible source
The marketplace, supplier, seller, or authorized quote that provided it.
Date checked
The date of the observation, not a promise that it remains current.

Separate the quoted amount from the price basis

Create one field for the number and another for the conditions that make the number meaningful. The basis should name the variant, quantity tier, packaging, included services, source, and quote date. That way, two identical amounts are not treated as comparable when one is a sample and the other is a bulk tier.

If any condition remains unclear, write it as an open question beside the quote. Do not hide uncertainty in a comment that will disappear when the row is exported or shared.

Compare the same total, not just the first number

Separate product price, domestic delivery, service charges, optional QC, packaging, international shipping, payment costs, customs or taxes, and currency conversion. Not every route includes the same components.

Comparable note

CNY 120 per item at 20 units

Exact variant, supplier URL, quote date, domestic delivery status, sample price, packaging assumption, and international shipping still excluded.

Unusable note

“120, very cheap”

No currency, quantity, variant, source, date, or included-cost definition.

When a very low price deserves more questions

  • Is it a deposit, sample price, wholesale tier, accessory-only amount, or one component?
  • Does the displayed variant match the album item?
  • Are taxes, packaging, domestic delivery, service fees, or shipping excluded?
  • Is the amount current and supplied by the responsible page?
  • Does an unusually low number create pressure to pay before questions are answered?
